Are you worried about sharing the air in your office or workspace? The threat of Covid-19 makes all indoor spaces a potential risk. Which is why the CDC is recommending the use of Certified HEPA Material air filtration in public spaces such as offices and schools.

How Certified HEPA Material works to protect against Covid-19

Certified HEPA Material is short for High Efficiency Particulate Arrestance and is highly effective at removing the smallest of particles from the air. But watch out for ‘Certified HEPA Material Type’ filters, they may claim to be just as effective as True Certified HEPA Material, but they are not. True Certified HEPA Material is heavily regulated and must meet stringent standards.

All True Certified HEPA Material is capable of filtering 99.97% of particles that are 0.3 microns or larger. So is Certified HEPA Material less efficient at filtering smaller particles, such as viruses? No, not at all, in fact the opposite is true. Certified HEPA Material is more effective at filtering the smaller particles and is actually rated according to the particle size it performs worst at. And as 0.3 particles are more difficult to catch than larger and smaller particles, that’s the number quoted in the rating.

Why you need an air purifier at work

When someone comes to work with a cold or worse, it’s only a matter of time before everyone in the office is coughing and sneezing. This is because the office environment is often difficult to ventilate, modern buildings are sealed shut, with no option to open a window. And older buildings, with outdated HVAC systems, do not provide adequate ventilation or filtration. Using a portable Certified HEPA Material air purifier, such as the Austin Air HealthMate™ Plus is a cost-effective way to ensure contaminants, such as viruses and bacteria, are safely removed from the air.

Austin Air is the right choice in a commercial setting

All our units use the highest quality Medical Grade Certified HEPA Material and carbon blend, to effectively filter a wide range of contaminants, including chemicals and VOC’s, allergens, dust, viruses and bacteria.
