Could it really be that simple?
Were your seasonal allergies worse than ever this year? Hopefully you are over the worst of it now but we all know it’ll be coming right back round again next year. Or maybe not.

Scientists from Denmark have found a novel new way to combat airborne allergies, in the form of a nasal filter. The filter is around the same size as a contact lens and fits snugly into the nose, to stop allergens from being inhaled.

So far, preliminary trials have shown promise. The mini nose filter reduces allergy symptoms by as much as 50%. And if used before symptoms start, the results are even more positive. Used in a preventative way, symptoms of sneezing and watery eyes were reduced by 100% and watery nose symptoms were reduced by 84%. With results as positive as this, many people with seasonal allergies could be looking at a future without the need for anti-histamine medication. As although anti-histamines are often effective, the associated side effects of drowsiness can be quite debilitating. If a medication free approach can be found, it can only be good news for people with seasonal allergies.

Sometimes it really is the simple things that work. Maybe when it comes to allergies, all we need to do is block the allergens from entering the body.
